First Computer Bug
In 1947 Grace Hopper was the first woman computer programmer of the Mark II in Harvard University when the computer started expiriencing technical difficulty causing problems. Upon thourough investigation a moth was found in the circuits used to run the computer. When the moth's wings were open the computer could not function, however when the moth closed it's wings the computer worked. Grace Hopper taped the moth in their logbook and labled it as "the first case of bug being found". After that instance the word went out that the computer had been debugged hence the terms 'bug' and 'debugged' came about as part of computer language meaning a flaw or fault in computer software or systems. Today you can see the first computer bug in the Naval Surface Warfare Center Computer Museum in Virginia.
